Carmel Pie with Almond Flour Crust

Updated: Jun 8, 2021

I'm sharing one of my favorite family recipes: Carmel Pie!

I remember when I was a little kid, my cousin brought this with her to one of our family get-togethers. It was something my mom and her siblings grew up on. Sometimes it was a pie, sometimes it was just carmel pudding. Either way, it's delicious. And I took over being the one to make this pie for every single family get together - on both sides of my family. My uncle, who's lactose intolerant, even purchases all the ingredients and has them ready for me to make when I visit.

The only part that's been an issue with this pie is that it's never been Passover friendly (it normally has a graham cracker crust). It's also not celiac friendly - so Adva and I thought we'd change that. We researched a little, experimented a bit, and came up with a delicious almond flour and cinnamon crust to go with the delicious carmel filling!

We hope you'll try making this pie at home. If you do, let us know how it comes out. Click here for our recipe!
